The La Traviata consortium is building the tools for the next generation of world-wide tourism information and booking systems. Using information on destinations and leisure activities, La Traviata systems will send information, on demand, to Web browsers, to mobile phones or by email.
In addition to providing relevant information quickly and easily to potential tourists and business travellers, it makes life simpler for SMEs providing tourism services. They will be able to update information about vacancies, special offers and rates using the same devices, without complicated and time consuming form-filling, and with immediate effect.
Using an open standard, XML-based, fully extensible interchange format, tourist information and reservation data can be transferred between otherwise incompatible systems. With encrypted data and multilateral security built into the system, it will offer booking of travel arrangements, accommodation, cultural visits, car hire and golf teetimes with a wide range of vendors, quite transparently to the user.
La Traviata standards and techniques are already in use for golf, hotel and car hire bookings in Scotland and Ireland.
If you are interested in providing data to these systems, or would like the ability to accept bookings, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
