Antique Golf Clubs from Scotland
History
We want to build this site into the leading online reference source for the history of golf in Scotland. In addition to our clubmaker section, this page allows you to find information on club types, clubmaking centres and courses with some longer articles on individual clubmakers. Browse the themes for topics which interest you or search the articles for a specific name, place or keyword. Many clubmakers were also accomplished players and will be found in the archive of Open Championship results.

The Auchterlonie Family
One of the most influential golfing families in Scotland, both in playing terms and in clubmaking.

Leven
The role of Leven's golfers in the history of the game is not widely known. These articles aim to set that right.

Carnoustie - development of the championship course
Looking at the new Carnoustie Golf Hotel, and the 1999 Open Championship, it is hard to believe that the Links were once almost sold as development land. Golf here is much older than the town and some of the highs and lows of its history are described here.
